Many women have stated they were using a GPS system and found the directions confusing. Recovery Room Nurses from Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center suggest that patients use the map and written directions that are on the Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center website. Otherwise the GPS or Google Maps may send you through a local apartment complex rather than taking a more direct route on the best road to the Reversal Center.

Tubal ligation reversal patients of Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center share their excitement over the latest weekly pregnancy report listed on the Tubal Reversal Message Board that shows 20 new pregnancies during the 1st week of November. Caroljean776 posts, “Wow - that’s quite a list. Eight are 35 or older - that’s encouraging. Six of them had tube lengths 5.0 cm or less - so that’s encouraging also for the shorter tubes.” Another member, 1more4us, posts, “Someone had her tubal reversal surgery on 10/15/08 and already is pregnant! I see there is also someone from 2002 on the list. Congratulations everyone!”

Some discomfort or burning around the incision site may be experienced for several days after surgery. A “healing ridge or hardness” along the incision is a part of the normal healing process and will soften in several weeks. Rubbing Vitamin E oil over the incision will help soften and reduce itching. Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center is available seven days a week to help you and respond to questions you may have prior to tubal reversal surgery and after you have returned home from having your tubes untied.

For patient safety and an optimal surgical situation, patients of Dr. Gary Berger and Dr. Charles Monteith are required to have a BMI below 35 in order to have tubal reversal surgery. Many of the women who are planning for tubal reversal surgery want to lose excess weight to gain better health and vitality prior to having surgery and becoming pregnant. How Do I Prepare For My Tubal Reversal?

Message board members of Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center give each other helpful hints on how to prepare for their tubal reversal as well as helpful suggestions during the post-operative period. Members suggest bringing a pair of warm socks for the operating room, wearing loose fitting, comfortable clothing, using a pillow for the return trip home, and adhering to the medication regimen and schedule as reviewed by the nursing staff. During the preoperative consultation staff members at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center will review what to expect on the day of surgery as well as during the recovery period. Dr. Berger, Dr. Monteith and staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer any questions.
