How Do I Prepare For My Tubal Reversal?

Message board members of Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center give each other helpful hints on how to prepare for their tubal reversal as well as helpful suggestions during the post-operative period. Members suggest bringing a pair of warm socks for the operating room, wearing loose fitting, comfortable clothing, using a pillow for the return trip home, and adhering to the medication regimen and schedule as reviewed by the nursing staff. During the preoperative consultation staff members at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center will review what to expect on the day of surgery as well as during the recovery period. Dr. Berger, Dr. Monteith and staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer any questions.

Highest Pregnancy Rate after Reversing Tubal Ligation

Members of the Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center discuss pregnancy rates after reversing their tubal ligation. Most women prefer to become pregnant naturally versus the alternative of in-vitro fertilization (IVF). Tubal reversal performed by Dr. Berger and Dr. Monteith is simpler, less expensive and has higher pregnancy and birth rates than IVF. Reversal of tubal ring or clip procedures had the highest pregnancy rate (76%), followed by ligation/resection (69%) and coagulation (68%). Patients with fimbriectomy or unknown methods of tubal ligation had the lowest pregnancy rate (56%).
