Untying Your Tubes At Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

If you regret having your tubal ligation and are interested in untying your tubes, Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center offers a low-cost, outpatient procedure to restore fertility. Dr. Gary Berger and Dr. Charles Monteith have the only facility in the country limited to untying your tubes. Experience is an important indicator on whether surgery will be performed if a woman has a difficult situation due to short tubes, missing tubal segments, fimbriectomy, or inherent diseases of the tubes. While most doctors would be unwilling – or unable – to perform a reversal in one of these situations, Dr. Gary Berger is able to repair the tubes in 98% of cases, regardless of the type of sterilization that has been performed.

Essure Procedure Reversal Possible

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

Essure procedure has only been performed for a little over 5 years and is reported to be permanent by the manufacturing company. Essure is a coil-like device that is inserted through the uterine and into the fallopian tubes, scar tissue then forms and creates a barrier. Because of the scar tissue Essure cannot be pulled out of the tube. It is advertised by the manufacturer as a permanent method of birth control. In this respect, it is similar to other tubal ligation methods that are considered by most doctors to be permanent. Dr. Gary Berger of Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center has successfully removed and reversed an Essure procedure and has untied tubes. Dr. Berger can accomplish this by cutting the Essure device from the uterine muscle and implanting the remaining fallopian tube into the uterus through a procedure called tubouterine implantation. To our knowledge, Dr. Gary Berger was the first surgeon to remove the Essure device. Dr. Gary Berger has been performing tubal ligation reversals for over three decades and Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center has been providing women with the opportunity to get pregnant after sterilization.

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

A member of the tubal reversal message board at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center “SJR” asks, “What do you think of getting a flu shot when trying to conceive? I hate putting all the additives in our bodies.” Another member, “Momzilla” responds, “It is actually recommended for pregnant women so I wouldn’t worry about it as long as you have never had a reaction to the vaccine before.” Dr. Berger recommended checking with the Center for Disease Control. Momzilla was right. They recommend flu shots for pregnant women and anyone at risk for the flu, especially those who care for children or are at high risk for exposure.
