Is a Flu Shot Safe When Trying to Conceive After Tubal Reversal Surgery?
A member of the tubal reversal message board at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center “SJR” asks, “What do you think of getting a flu shot when trying to conceive? I hate putting all the additives in our bodies.” Another member, “Momzilla” responds, “It is actually recommended for pregnant women so I wouldn’t worry about it as long as you have never had a reaction to the vaccine before.” Dr. Berger recommended checking with the Center for Disease Control. Momzilla was right. They recommend flu shots for pregnant women and anyone at risk for the flu, especially those who care for children or are at high risk for exposure. Maintaining optimal health is especially important after reversing tubal ligation and when trying to conceive.
