Women Over 40 Are Pregnant After Tubal Reversal Surgery
Congratulations to the 12 women who announce they are pregnant this week after their tubal reversal procedures at Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center. Three of the women are over the age of 40. Most women prefer to become pregnant naturally rather than undergo the alternative of in vitro fertilization (IVF). IVF treatment for women over 40 usually requires the use of donor eggs. Tubal reversal surgery is simpler, less expensive, and has higher pregnancy and birth rates than IVF. The pregnancy rate after tubal ligation reversal performed by Dr. Berger ranges from 82% for women under 30 to 41% for women 40 and older.
